- Provide hands on leadership to the team and expedite urgent jobs to minimize any business impact.
- Give the team hands on direction and follow them up to ensure they are tracking their jobs and making good progress.
- Track urgent jobs and be the single point of escalation for urgent jobs or problem jobs.
- Lead the day-to-day operational delivery of repairs and maintenance activities across the national retail network
- Manage the Manila-based R&M team comprised of Fuel Systems and Facilities Maintenance Specialists.
- Allocate work across the team ensuring maintenance requests are prioritized based on safety risk, operational impact, and service level requirements.
- Oversee reactive maintenance activities including fuel system issues, facilities faults, equipment failures, signages, and urgent operational incidents.
- Oversee the afterhours R&M cover and if an urgent or difficult job arises be the point or escalation and ensure the appropriate action is taken in a timely fashion.
- Ensure preventive maintenance programs are scheduled and executed in accordance with planned maintenance frameworks.
- Coordinate with service providers and contractors to ensure timely response and quality of maintenance work.
- Monitor contractor performance including response times, quality of completion, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are recorded accurately within the maintenance management system and aligned with team KPIs.
- Escalate critical or unresolved maintenance issues to the GM for Services and relevant operational stakeholders.
- Work closely with Retail Operations teams across Australia to resolve maintenance issues impacting site performance.
- Provide technical guidance to the R&M operational team when complex maintenance issues arise.
- Support compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), environmental and regulatory requirements related to site maintenance.
- Provide operational insights and feedback to support continuous improvement initiatives across the R&M function.
- Promote clear communication between the Manila support and Australian operational teams to ensure effective coordination.
- Create process documentation for all R&M Operations workflows and update the same as needed.
- Urgent jobs that impact the business are rectified in a timely fashion or appropriately escalated.
- Maintenance response times achieved within agreed SLA targets.
- Preventive maintenance completion rates maintained above 98%.
- Reduction in repeat maintenance incidents across the network.
- Work order backlog maintained within defined operational thresholds.
- Contractor response and completion performance maintained within contractual service levels.
- Positive feedback from Retail Operations teams regarding responsiveness and resolution of maintenance issues.
- Min 5 to 10 years Building / Facilities Maintenance experience - preferably within a National Retail environment.
- Must be decisive and action orientated.
- Demonstrates hands on direct leadership to the team members.
- Previous experience leading a facilities team of 8+ team members.
- Must be willing to work on call after hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Technical knowledge of building and service station operations.
- An understanding of the legislative OH&S landscape.
- Understanding of risk and compliance issues and set standards.
- Ideally trade management background.
- Leads by example and takes responsibility.
- Structured and analytical thinker; resilient and tenacious.
- Continuous improvement-focused Trade background; engineering or building qualifications.
- Experience in multiple site facilities/building maintenance.
- Demonstrated experience in communicating with vendors and contractors.
- Ability to interpret pricing and quotations; a good negotiator.
- Competent in reading building plans.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and build relationships internally/externally
- Previous exposure to Petroleum and/or convenience retail industries will be highly regarded
- Experience in facilities management of retail/service stations will be highly regarded.
- Strong computer skills - MS Office, email; experience with CMMS will be highly regarded.
