Job Title: Telephony DeveloperPosition OverviewWe are looking for a talented Telephony Developer to design, build, and optimize telephony and communication solutions that enhance our business operations and customer experience. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing applications and integrations with telephony platforms, VoIP systems, and APIs. This role combines software development with telecommunication expertise, focusing on automation, call flow design, and system integrations.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain telephony applications (e.g., IVR, call routing, voicemail, and contact center solutions).Build APIs and integrations between telephony systems, CRM platforms, and other enterprise applications.Customize and extend functionality in VoIP and UC platforms (e.g., Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, Twilio, Genesys, Avaya, Cisco, or Microsoft Teams).Develop and optimize call flows, scripts, and backend logic for voice applications.Ensure telephony applications are scalable, secure, and high-performing.Collaborate with engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing telephony code and configurations.Perform system testing, monitoring, and deployment of telephony applications.Maintain detailed documentation of telephony architecture, APIs, and application workflows.Stay current with emerging telephony technologies, APIs, and cloud communication platforms.Qualifications & SkillsBachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience.3+ years of experience in software development with a focus on telephony or real-time communications.Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, Node.js, PHP).Strong knowledge of VoIP, SIP, RTP, and related protocols.Experience with telephony platforms such as Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, Twilio, Plivo, Genesys, Avaya, or Cisco.Familiarity with cloud communication APIs (e.g., Twilio, Nexmo/Vonage, AWS Connect).Understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and data integration.Experience with REST APIs, WebRTC, and microservices architectures.Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team.Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and agile development methodologies is a plus.
