As part of HyperStrong's rapidly expanding Renewable Energy Project across the Asia-Pacific region, we are seeking a motivated and capable Site Engineer to join our delivery and asset operations team. This role is primarily based in the Philippines but includes the potential for international deployment to other regional project locations, including Australia and New Zealand. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the on-site commissioning and operational readiness of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, and supporting the long-term operations and maintenance activities under a structured asset lifecycle framework. This is a field-based engineering role that requires a hands-on, detail-oriented professional who thrives in dynamic project environments and demonstrates strong technical and communication competencies. Key Responsibilities: Support the end-to-end commissioning process of BESS and associated electrical systems in accordance with project commissioning plans and manufacturer guidelines. Assist in system energisation, functional testing, and verification of compliance with design parameters, quality standards, and safety protocols. Conduct routine inspections, pre-start checks, and diagnostics during commissioning and early-stage operations. Support operational data collection and performance analysis; flag anomalies and contribute to root cause analysis. Assist with corrective and preventive maintenance procedures post-commissioning. Maintain and update commissioning documentation, test records, and technical reports. Coordinate with contractors, equipment vendors, engineering teams, and site supervisors to ensure successful site delivery and handover. Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards across all site activities. Participate in cross-border commissioning and O&M support assignments as needed across the Asia-Pacific region. Qualifications and Experience: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in commissioning or O&M roles within utility-scale renewable energy or energy storage projects (BESS, PV, wind, or hybrid systems). Familiarity with BESS, Power Conversion Systems (PCS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), and SCADA interfaces. Understanding of protection systems, switchgear, power transformers, and related electrical infrastructure. Demonstrated experience with fault-finding, low-voltage and medium-voltage systems, and technical documentation. Proficient in interpreting single-line diagrams (SLDs), electrical schematics, and test plans. Professional and Mobility Requirements: Professional-level fluency in English, with strong oral, written, and listening skills for effective communication across multicultural teams and regional stakeholders. Willing to work on remote or rural project sites and travel across Asia-Pacific, including Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia. Flexible with working hours, including weekends and public holidays, as required by project schedules. Must hold or be willing to obtain safety certifications such as BOSH or COSH, Working at Heights, and LOTO. Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) license issued by the PRC is preferred; candidates with a Registered Master Electrician (RME) license and relevant field experience are also encouraged to apply.
