- Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Utilize Intuit ProConnect Tax Software for tax preparation and filing.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and accounting standards.
- Stay current with relevant regulations and oversee complex compliance areas.
- Perform regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Develop and implement effective tax strategies for clients.
- Collaborate with other departments within the firm, such as bookkeeping and tax planning, to provide comprehensive financial solutions.
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and manage a team of tax preparation professionals.
- Set performance expectations and monitor team performance.
- Oversee the review of tax returns prepared by tax preparers.
- Mentor and develop staff at all levels, fostering their professional growth.
- Report on team performance and strategic goals, contributing to organizational decision-making.
- Proficient in leading, mentoring, and ensuring task accuracy.
- Client Relationship Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for key clients.
- Review tax returns with clients and provide guidance.
- Maintain effective communication with a diverse client base.
- Manage a larger and more complex portfolio of client accounts.
- Play a significant role in client retention and business growth.
- Identify opportunities for service expansion and client financial optimization.
- Data Security & Confidentiality
- Oversee data security and confidentiality measures.
- Ensure accurate preparation of audit schedules and coach team members for optimal performance.
- Uphold the highest ethical standards in financial reporting and client interactions.
- CPA license is required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of U.S. accounting experience, with a focus on tax preparation and compliance.
- Proficiency in Intuit ProConnect Tax Software - preferred but not required.
- Solid understanding of U.S. tax laws and accounting standards.
- Proven ability to lead and support a team effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a client-first mindset and excellent communication abilities.
- Sharp analytical thinking with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Proficient in MS Excel for data analysis and reporting tasks.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving, remote-first environment.
