- A Room Attendant (also known as a Housekeeper or Room Cleaner) is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of guest rooms in hotels, resorts, and other hospitality establishments. Their duties are focused on providing an excellent experience for guests by ensuring that their rooms are comfortable, well-maintained, and presentable.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning Guest Rooms:
- Make beds, change linens, and replace towels.
- Dust, vacuum, and mop floors.
- Clean bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, and showers/tubs.
- Replenish toiletries, such as soap, shampoo, toilet paper, and other guest essentials.
- Cleaning Common Areas:
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining public areas (e.g., hallways, lobbies, stairways).
- Inspecting Rooms:
- Check for any damage or maintenance issues (e.g., broken furniture, light bulbs).
- Report any issues to the supervisor for repair or replacement.
- Guest Requests:
- Respond to guest requests (extra towels, pillows, etc.) in a timely manner.
- Restocking Supplies:
- Ensure that all rooms are stocked with necessary amenities, linens, and towels.
- Maintain Cleanliness Standards:
- Follow hotel policies and cleanliness standards.
- Maintain a high level of hygiene and cleanliness in all areas.
- Laundry:
- Collect and manage dirty linens and towels, and sometimes assist in laundry duties.
