- Develop and produce detailed design drawings, specifications, assemblies, animations, and BOMs using SolidWorks/CAD.
- Review and analyze sketches, specifications, and data to create accurate layouts, resolve design issues, and ensure compliance with standards.
- Modify and revise designs to address deficiencies, reduce production problems, and incorporate ECO/ECN updates.
- Perform thermal, structural, and environmental analyses using FEA tools (e.g., SolidWorks Simulation).
- Maintain organized drawing databases, libraries (digital/physical), and ensure document control.
- Collaborate with engineers and team members to finalize layouts, designs, and prototypes.
- Prepare technical documentation, including operation manuals, service guides, assembly instructions, and templates.
- Update drawings, BOMs, and records within ERP and SolidWorks systems.
- Ensure designs are completed on schedule and support the engineering department with development, testing, and documentation of new and existing products.
- High school diploma, associate/bachelor’s degree, or certificate in Mechanical Drafting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design, drafting standards, and ability to create manufacturing/assembly drawings.
- Proficient in SolidWorks 2D/3D modeling and drafting (formal training or certification preferred); knowledge of SolidWorks assemblies, PDM Vault, and AutoCAD.
- Experience with ECOs/PCNs, BOMs, and high-volume manufacturing; background in manufacturing or automotive industry a plus.
- Basic understanding of stress/pressure analysis, hydraulic systems, and tooling design.
- Skilled in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), with good typing and general technical/software proficiency.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and multitasking skills; able to prioritize and work independently or in teams.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with ability to interact professionally across teams, vendors, and management.
