This is a pre-award opportunity located on Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean. Qualified personnel must have previously worked on Fairbanks Morse two (2) cycle, medium speed heavy-duty stationary diesel engines, and must demonstrate the basic skills in all assignments associated with the operation and maintenance of the power generation plants and power plant control systems including the following as a minimum: a) Starting and securing engines. b) Paralleling AC generators, transferring, adding or shedding loads. c) Making necessary adjustments to maintain voltage and frequency within specified ranges. d) Making necessary adjustments to reduce and minimize electrical system spinning reserve. e) Take the necessary casualty control and corrective measures for all emergency power generation situations. f) Exhibit advanced knowledge and skills in record keeping practices and engine log management. g) Exhibit advanced knowledge and skills in Lube Oil and Jacket Water programs. h) Exhibit advanced knowledge and skills in computer operation and utilization.
