Key Roles & Duties Description As the Project Contract Manager, you will be based at the project site in Ilo Ilo reporting directly to the Project Manager and functionally to the Head of International Contract Management in Paris (Suez corporate office). Your Role Includes Review, improve & ensure full deployment / application by the Project team of Contract Management Plan and all Contract management procedures Preparation, update and monitoring of the obligations register. Follow up with the project manager and the project team on a daily basis to ensure timely fulfillment of Project's obligations. Spreading awareness amongst the project team. Explaining the importance of meeting the contractual obligations and the necessity of seizing opportunities and rights Review of daily basis communications exchanged at all levels, whether vis- -vis the client, with key subcontractors and even internal with the Consortium partner. Ensure Contractual reporting, at least monthly or when required, with the relevant function (Project team, Central Contract Management office). Preparing and proposing contractual correspondence to be issued on the project, including notices, advance warning, instructions to subcontractors etc. Preparing and proposing responses to all contractual correspondence to be issued on the project, including responses to the client, partner and subcontractors' letters. Preparing contractual notices, claims and pursuing the same. Prepare Variations orders as needed. Manage Subcontract Contract Management and provide contractual support to the Purchasing team in consulting and contractualization with suppliers, Anticipate risks of claims and setting defensive strategies with the project manager and the team Ensure that defensive strategies are being implemented by the team and that the intended target is achieved Identification and brainstorming with the project team on contractual opportunities Implementing with the project team all measures necessary to seize such opportunities, including amongst others, initiation of variation orders and value engineering and negotiating and settling the same with the concerned parties Promoting amicable settlement with all parties concerned until resolving all disputes Evaluating strengths and weaknesses on the project and proposing with the project manager resolution strategies Maintaining cordial communication amongst the disputed parties and participate to all negotiation meetings Participating to alternative dispute resolution procedures when disputes are not solved amicably Tracking of pre-requisites for contract closing and ensure that all obligations linked to taking over and final completion certificates are timely achieved Monitoring and following up the clearance of remaining defects Ensuring that all company's liabilities on the project are relieved and unconditional final completion certificate are obtained Qualifications Essential Professional experience: 10 to 15 years working experience as Project Contract Manager Working experience on Engineering, Procurement and Construction projects, Experience working with Consortia will be advantageous Qualifications and training : Engineering / Construction / Project Management or QS background Languages : fluent in English (very good speaking and writing skills) Technical Skills Required Demonstrable ability to interpret conditions of contract and to synthesis these for use by others Demonstrable aptitude for contractual risks identification Knowledge of claims production Human Skills Required Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written, including demonstrated ability to lead/ control meetings, prepare reports and present recommendations to high levels Must be capable of working both within a team and automatously Flexible with a good team spirit Ability to adapt and work under remote regime Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written, including demonstrated ability to control meetings, prepare reports and present recommendations to high levels.
