Job Description The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company's only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine. OceanaGold are seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Engineer-Geotechnical (Level 2) to ensure geotechnical-related concerns are addressed and or mitigated by effective planning and implementation of geotechnical plans and procedures. De-risking the UG mining operation against adverse geotechnical conditions that present a risk to the short and long-term objectives of the Didipio operation. This job includes providing geotechnical support and education to the workforce providing technical support to establish safe and efficient paste-filling operations, monitoring the implementation of the ground control management and paste-fill management plans and performing daily to monthly geotechnical functions of the geotechnical section. The role will report to the Senior Engineer - Geotechnical. Key tasks and responsibilities: Key tasks and responsibilities: Collect geotechnical data to investigate and characterize rock mass conditions and manage databases. Interpret all available data (from logging, mapping, testing, and LiDAR scans) and develop geotechnical models. Develop and implement ground control standards, procedures, and Trigger Action Response Plans (TARP) for various geotechnically challenging scenarios in underground and surface. Develop and execute designs and plans (slope and underground excavation) using available and/or new geotechnical information Collect and record monitoring data as per established monitoring protocols and procedures. Develop designs, calculations, and analysis for backfill (paste fill and cemented rock fill). Support project teams by organizing meetings, documenting discussions, and tracking action items.
