Work hours: U.S. hours (needs to have an overlap with Australian business hours)OverviewThe IT Systems Manager will have day-to-day responsibility for the management, development, and reliability of IT infrastructure and systems across New Zealand and international operations. This role ensures that our information systems and networks are robust, secure, and scalable to support product delivery and company growth.You will oversee IT systems design, infrastructure management, vendor relationships, and IT project execution, while ensuring compliance with software licensing, security protocols, and industry best practices.Primary ObjectivesDesign, implement, and manage all IT systems and budgets.Oversee IT infrastructure in New Zealand and overseas.Maintain and update the company Asset Register across all locations.Ensure all software licenses are current and compliant with licensing laws.Keep IT systems cutting-edge and aligned with development goals.Manage IT projects from concept through completion, including milestone delivery.Train and support staff on IT systems and equipment as required.Develop and maintain back-up and disaster recovery systems.Produce maintenance schedules, manuals, and documentation for IT equipment.Support office relocations and infrastructure transitions.Promote and enforce a safe working environment.Key Accountabilities & Performance IndicatorsIT SystemsDefine, deliver, and support IT systems.Audit usage and adherence to IT policies and systems.Evaluate and recommend new systems (ERP, PLM, Quality Management).Ensure timely system upgrades and compliance with software licensing.Consult with users to align systems with project and business needs.Security & Risk ManagementPlan and implement disaster recovery and back-up protocols.Manage secure network access for remote teams.Stay current on emerging technologies and IT best practices.Provide user training, support, and technical guidance.IT InfrastructureDesign, document, and maintain IT infrastructure.Administer internet, telephone, and security systems (in-house and via vendors).Ensure reliable operation of systems through testing and maintenance.Manage and update the Asset Register.Oversee repair and maintenance of IT equipment (servers, routers, PCs, AV, etc.).Budgeting & Cost ManagementPrepare and manage annual IT budgets.Analyze expenditures, report variances, and implement corrective actions.Conduct cost–benefit research on IT components and infrastructure upgrades.Project ManagementLead IT projects from planning through implementation.Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure milestones are met.Ensure projects align with business and operational requirements.Other DutiesPerform special projects as required to support organizational growth.Qualifications & ExperienceEducation: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent technical training/experience.Experience: Minimum 5 years in IT systems management or infrastructure leadership.Skills:Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure.Experience with ERP/PLM/Quality Management systems.Vendor management and contract negotiation.Disaster recovery planning and execution.Excellent communication, documentation, and user support skills.Other:Current passport with ability to travel internationally.Strong problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.
