- Monitors established or developing social media for potential stories, especially Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc.
- Monitors standard media for potential social media stories, especially key websites and wire services.
- Amplifies Bandera on social media, especially by promoting stories, highlighting connections, and participating in comment threads.
- Amplify at least fifteen (15) stories per day on Facebook.
- Post at least fifteen (15) stories per day on Twitter.
- Choose at least five (5) stories per day that the graphic artist will convert into social media cards and post those to Instagram.
- Prepare at least two (2) photo quote materials per day for amplification on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
- Writes social media-specific stories for Bandera social media platforms.
- Writes longer stories for publication on Bandera and other Inquirer platforms, on occasion.
- Conceptualizes and develop features or special content for social media, including photos and video, on occasion.
- Monitor social media feedback and promptly escalate issues and concerns.
- Regularly check Bandera email.
- Performs social media tasks for other Inquirer.net channels/desks as assigned.
- Performs other related tasks as may be assigned.
- College Graduate, preferably major in Journalism
- Qualification or Communication Arts and/or related courses
- Work Experience: Fresh graduates are welcome. Related experience is an advantage.
- Active user of social media with calm online persona
- Self-starter who can be depended on for steady stream of social media content
- Deadline-beater with proven ability to write fast
- Familiar with local and foreign showbiz personalities
- Has nose for entertainment news
- Extrovert eager to network and build contacts
- Team player committed to the credibility of the Inquirer brand
