DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESA. Grant Management & Project Administration
  • Coordinates and leads the active participation and involvement of laboratory end-users and stakeholders at the regions to ensure complete and sustained implementation of NTP strategies/activities regardless of funding source

  • Serves as technical support Staff or technical back-up to the day to day TB laboratory operations such as adherence to quality assurance and biosafety standards set by NTRL, adoption of new diagnostics, implementation of latest
  • PMDT strategies, organizes work areas to ensure safe and hazard free environment, etc.
  • Provides regular feedback/reports to NTRL as early warnings, where applicable, on the status of Laboratory & PMDT Program implementation at all levels at the regions
  • In close coordination with the laboratory supervisor, conducts regular inventory of laboratory supplies, chemicals, reagents and laboratory equipment and submits request for action to NTRL (supplies specification verification pending
  • Procurement and equipment/facility maintenance) and BIHC-PGMU (funding support, processing for payment)
B. Technical Assistance
  • Assists the regional laboratory supervisor and key technical partners in performing quality TB diagnostics tests in accordance with the program protocol
  • Drafts/writes technical documents/materials necessary to identify researchable areas in laboratory operations in close coordination with the regional laboratory coordinator and NTRL, if necessary
  • Recommends to improve timely fulfillment of deliveries, or catch-up strategies, approaches, as well as steps to successfully achieve NTP & Global
  • Fund plans and targets concerning specific areas assigned.
  • Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the immediate supervisor and/or management
C. Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Maintains an accurate recording and reporting systems to ensure that quality data is delivered to DOH through NTRL in measuring the GF performance indicators assigned to the latter
  • Facilitates conduct of participatory evaluation of implementation progress under the regional laboratory operations
  • Receives and logs specimens and/or isolates and releases results of diagnostic tests
  • Coordinates with NTRL and Laboratory Officer the schedule of major or periodic equipment maintenance of the regional laboratory including providing assistance in monitoring the productivity of other culture centers/microscopy centers within its geographical location, as necessary
