The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the overall maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of the cold storage facility's infrastructure, utilities, and general services. This critical role ensures that all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and structural systems are functioning optimally, safely, and in compliance with industry standards. Duties And Responsibilities Maintenance and Repair Management Oversee and manage all aspects of facility maintenance, including corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance programs for: Refrigeration Systems: Refrigerants/Freon compressors, condensers, evaporators, chillers, blast freezers, cold rooms, temperature monitoring systems. Electrical Systems: Power supply, transformers, generators, switchgear, lighting, wiring, control panels. Mechanical Systems: Pumps, motors, conveyors, ventilation, HVAC units for administrative areas. Plumbing Systems: Water supply, drainage, fire suppression systems. Structural Elements: Walls, floors, roofing, racking systems, docks, doors (especially cold room doors). Develop and implement a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedule for all critical equipment and systems. Diagnose complex technical issues, troubleshoot equipment failures, and oversee repairs. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, minimizing downtime and operational disruption. Maintain a comprehensive inventory of spare parts and critical components, ensuring availability for timely repairs. Facility Operations and Utilities Management Monitor and optimize utility consumption (electricity, water, fuel) to ensure cost-efficiency without compromising operational integrity. Oversee waste management, pest control, and general cleanliness of the facility premises. Manage grounds maintenance, including landscaping and exterior upkeep. Ensure proper functioning of security systems, CCTV, and access control in coordination with Admin IT. Oversee the calibration and maintenance of temperature monitoring and control devices. Safety and Compliance Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, including those related to refrigeration, electrical work, confined spaces, and working at heights. Implement and enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and other safety protocols. Conduct regular safety inspections and drills. Ensure compliance with local building codes, environmental regulations, and industry standards (proper refrigerant handling, waste disposal). Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and regulatory compliance. Team Supervision and Development Supervise, train, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians or general services staff. Schedule work assignments, monitor performance, and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards. Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback. Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and technical excellence within the team. Project Management and Vendor Relations Assist in planning and executing facility improvement projects, renovations, or equipment upgrades. Prepare specifications for equipment purchases and maintenance contracts. Source, evaluate, and manage external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs or projects (e.g., refrigeration specialists, civil works contractors). Negotiate service agreements and ensure quality of work from third-party vendors. Prepare budget estimates for maintenance, repairs, and capital expenditures. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in maintenance or engineering roles within an industrial, manufacturing, or logistics environment. At least 2-3 years of proven supervisory or team leadership experience in a maintenance or facilities management capacity. Incumbent will be assigned in Balagtas, Bulacan
