Job Purpose The Head of Knowledge Management is responsible for designing and leading a comprehensive knowledge ecosystem that empowers teams to learn faster, make informed decisions, and accelerate innovation. This includes creating systems, tools, and behaviors that make organizational knowledge visible, reusable, and impactful, while integrating foresight to help the organization anticipate and adapt to future change. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Knowledge Strategy & Future-Proofing Develop and execute a knowledge management strategy that supports both immediate innovation needs and long-term organizational foresight. Integrate trend analysis, strategic foresight, and signals of change into the knowledge infrastructure to support proactive innovation. 2. Knowledge Systems & Process Design Build and manage knowledge repositories and platforms that make organizational knowledge accessible, findable, and usable. Design and implement taxonomies, metadata systems, and content structures to support easy navigation and reuse. Develop and deploy templates, canvases, and guided tools for teams to consistently capture knowledge, decisions, lessons, and insights. 3. Insight Distillation & Reuse for Innovation Success Systematically extract and synthesize insights from innovation initiatives, organizational projects, and strategic thinking processes. Translate learnings into reusable frameworks, playbooks, and decision-making tools to improve innovation outcomes and prevent repeated failures. Create knowledge assets that support scaling, experimentation, and organizational agility. 4. Culture Building & Cross-Functional Collaboration Promote a culture of reflection, knowledge-sharing, and continuous learning across all levels of the organization. Facilitate communities of practice, learning sessions, and peer exchanges. Partner with innovation leads, subject matter experts, and business units to embed knowledge behaviors in day-to-day workflows. 5. Measurement, Capability Building & Continuous Improvement Define and track KPIs related to knowledge utilization, reuse, and business impact. Identify capability gaps and lead training or coaching efforts to strengthen innovation literacy and knowledge-sharing skills. Continuously refine the KM strategy based on user feedback, evolving needs, and emerging best practices. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Knowledge Management, Organizational Learning, Innovation, Information Science, or a related field; Master's preferred. Minimum 8 years of experience in knowledge management, innovation strategy, or organizational development roles. Proven success in designing knowledge systems and enabling innovation through structured learning. Familiarity with innovation methodologies (e.g., design thinking, lean startup) and foresight tools.
