The Security Performance & Metrics Analyst (SPMA) is responsible for cross-team collaboration, ensuring key security performance indicators (KPIs) are tracked, optimized, and communicated effectively. This role proactively identifies security issue wins, highlights successful MDR SOC incident response cases, and provides leadership with actionable security performance insights. The SPMA ensures that security operations are data-driven, helps refine performance benchmarks, and develops new KPIs to measure and showcase how the team is actively helping customers. What You&aposll Do Cross-Team Collaboration & Performance Monitoring Work closely with SOC analysts, detection teams, and IR teams to track key security operational insights and highlight performance wins. Ensure teams are meeting response time SLAs (MTTR, escalation times, and other performance metrics). Identifying and Reporting Security Wins Track and document security incidents where operations led to a successful outcome (e.g., early containment, prevented breach, rapid remediation). Develop case studies and success stories based on real MDR SOC incidents to present to leadership. Security Metrics, KPI Management & New KPI Creation Successful Containment Actions Taken (SOAR, Manual Intervention, Customer Actions) Detection Effectiveness (Reduction in False Positives, True Positive Rate) Time-to-Detection (TTD) & Time-to-Response (TTR) Improvements Customer Satisfaction & Value Metrics (Reduction in Breach Attempts, Incident Trends, Threat Posture Improvement) Create new performance KPIs based on MDR SOC impact, tailored to leadership and customer needs. Incident & SOC Analysis for Leadership Collect data on MDR SOC-handled incidents and develop reports to demonstrate team effectiveness. Compare before vs. after MDR SOC implementation metrics to highlight improvements. Show data-driven insights on how MDR SOC is helping customers reduce threats and enhance security posture. Process Optimization & Automation Work with detection, automation, and QA teams to streamline reporting and analysis processes. Improve automation-based KPI tracking for real-time performance monitoring. Customer & Leadership Reporting Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to executive leadership on security performance. Lead internal briefings on security trends, MDR SOC performance, and incident outcomes. What You&aposll Bring Strong background in SOC/MDR/XDR SOC operations, cybersecurity frameworks, and security analytics. Experience in tracking security KPIs, process optimization, and performance benchmarking. Familiarity with incident response processes, threat detection methodologies, and SOAR workflows. 3+ years of experience in SOC/MDR/XDR SOC, or cybersecurity performance tracking. Hands-on experience with security metrics, incident tracking, and SIEM-based reporting. Data-driven mindset with a strong ability to correlate security operations with business impact. Ability to develop new KPIs and refine existing performance measurement models.
