Discover how you can grow your career, make impact and drive real change with our Winning Team today.Working Arrangement HybridJob DescriptionRole and ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the MBPS Service Delivery Head for Finance Control, the Regional Controllers Director the role is primarily responsible for leading the Regional Office Controllership teams supporting Asia in ensuring timely, accurate, and effective delivery of services in scope.Responsibilities include the following:
  • Provide functional expertise and be accountable for the efficiency and quality of service delivery of the Regional Controllers teams.
  • Oversee processes performed by the Regional Controllers teams including, but not limited to accounting close activities, expense allocations and reporting, management, and regulatory reporting, daily and monthly Sales and KPI reporting, financial planning & analysis, budgeting and forecasting, accounting policy, SOX controls, and escalations to internal and external stakeholders and service providers.
  • Drive the delivery of key strategic transformation projects of the Regional Office, including the onboarding of manual management reports to Anaplan, PowerBI and Alteryx.
  • Lead end-to-end reporting enhancement and process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate and develop relationships with Regional and local Asia controllers. Ensure the effective cascade and communication of new or changes in the existing accounting standards and management practices.
  • To ensure customer-centered outcomes, manage business relationships and act as a business partner for the Business Unit service recipients. Enable feedback channels to the business to align expectations and priorities.
  • In partnership with our customers, define and periodically refresh service level standards across the teams within the domain and manage the achievement of KPIs as defined within the Service Level Agreements and Schedule of Services.
  • Manage, review and accurately forecast overall Regional Controllers’ team capacity, utilization and ensure correct staffing levels are in place
  • Manage and mitigate operational risk and ensure that issues are escalated timely, and resolution is effective.
  • Timely and effective delivery on KPI and KRI reporting, business dashboards and other metrics as required.
  • Drive the sharing of best practices, fostering collaboration and innovation across the teams within the group.
  • Develop the group’s capability and functional expertise through training, coaching/mentoring, strategic talent and production management, succession planning, and supporting mobility.
  • Manage a growing team with responsibility for hiring, compensation, promotion, and performance management.
Special Projects
  • Special projects will arise from time to time that will require strong financial knowledge, strong analytical and organizational skills with an innovative mindset. The role will be responsible ad-hoc projects as required by senior management pertaining to the introduction of new services, products and processes designed.
Qualifications
  • University degree in Accounting and/or recognized accounting designation (Chartered Accountant or CPA);
  • 12+ years of progressive financial reporting and management experience; Life insurance industry experience is preferred
  • Experience working with senior management teams (Strong stakeholder management requiring persuasion / influencing skills); relationship building and negotiation skills
  • Strong people management and leadership experience (10+ years) to lead, manage, and develop finance professionals
  • Experience leading global operations and working across multiple geographies/time zones.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strong stakeholder management capabilities
  • Strong technical accounting skills with a solid understanding of the business environment
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with database applications
  • Strong project management skills
  • Self-starter, detail-oriented, willingness to take ownership and accountability
  • Able to cope in a fast paced and dynamic work environment, with the mindset of continuous improvement and aiming for excellence
  • Strong oral/written communication skills required to interact with senior officers and representatives from other Divisions and functional departments
