Role OverviewThe DevOps Engineer will be leading the Automation and adoption of DevOps best practices.The role requires a technically skilled, highly collaborative, team-focussed engineer with exceptional communication skills to work with developers as well as centralised teams in DevOps principles .Role ResponsibilitiesSupport the business in adopting processes and techniques to support an agile delivery modelWork with Fusion Team , Platform and Cloud engineering team, architects, developers, testers and operations to automate builds, deployment and release of applications running on-premise and cloudAdopt and implement tooling required for CI/CD for applicationsAssist and architect where appropriate Microservices using containerisation and serverless technologiesBe the key automation driver for Environment management, logging and monitoringEngage with wider teams to build strong relationships that can be leveraged to adopt best possible methods for increasing efficiency of software deliveryTo fulfil any additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.Engage with vendors and service providers to build strong relationships that can be leveraged by directly influencing products and services in the interest of the company, enabling the negotiation of favourable terms and extracting the best possible use of external resourcesExperience / CompetencesEssentialDeep understanding of 'DevOps' principles in generalProgramming language, proficiency in one of the following along with a working knowledge on the other, C# (.NET Framework/Core), Python, Java, JavaScript (Node.js), Ruby, C++, CloudFormation, CDK, TerraformProficiency in at least one of the following scripting languages; Python, PowerShell, Bash, GroovyDesiredPlatforms; Windows Server, Amazon LinuxDeveloper tooling; Full stack CI/CD, GitLab, TFS, SVN, Jenkins, CloudBees, Jira, AWS services, Ansible, AppDynamics, EKSExperience of working with agile teamsKnowledge and working experience of containerising application components including writing Dockerfile and container deployment manifests
