- Review and/or approve income tax returns, book to tax to provision reconciliations, extension requests and transfer pricing deliverables prepared by EY
- Work with Regional Controller Center to ensure tax account entries are made correctly and timely
- Support the maintenance of deferred tax schedules, uncertain tax position analyses, financial statement footnote disclosures and return to provision reconciliations
- Provide income tax accounting advice and tax consulting to business units operating within Asia Pacific
- Provide training in tax package preparation and reconciliation of tax accounts to local teams
- Responsible for coordinating efforts to gather and provide income tax calculations and indirect tax reconciliations to auditors
- Identify opportunities for increased tax incentives for Diebold operations and work with management to secure beneficial results
- Monitor and analyze proposed and newly enacted Asia Pacific tax legislation and communicate relevant issues to management and business units
- Review and approve tax installment payment calculations and cash tax forecasting and reporting
- Assist with issues that arise during in-country preparation of corporate income tax compliance
- Oversee tax audit, exam and notice responses and maintain productive working relationships with relevant tax authorities
- Team with EY and Regional Controller to ensure new and recurring tax filing requirements are identified and completed timely
- Assist with or initiate escalations as requested or required and involve Global Tax Director as needed
- Serve as main point of contact to internal and external stakeholders for business developments, tax audits and other tax matters
- Utilizes organization and prioritization techniques
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
- Comfortable managing multiple simultaneous tasks
- Quickly adapts to changing circumstances and scenarios
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent reading and writing in the English language
- Knowledge of US GAAP tax accounting (ASC740)
- Diverse overall direct and indirect tax experience
- Ability to research and document tax planning projects
- Individual must be proficient with Excel and comfortable learning/using tax provision software, consolidation software and various ERP systems (FCCS, Oracle, SAP and others)
- Position may require obtaining a power of attorney to represent, resolve and deliver information to tax authorities
- Previous “Big 4” public accounting firm experience is preferred
- Professional accounting designation required (CPA or Asia Pacific equivalent)
- Over 5 years of professional experience with multinational tax matters
