Established in 1874, we have grown to become the world leader in mining and civil blasting with a diverse of team of more than 13,000 across the world.It's an exciting time to join us - we are shaping the future of mining through digital and automated technologies, embracing new ways of thinking, pioneering innovation and reimagining the way we work.About the roleThe ROG(Rock on Ground) Team Leader will lead a team of surveyors or QA/QC assistants to guarantee blast hole accuracy in accordance with the drilling plan, mark out the hole, and record the actual hole coordinates, depth, azimuth, and any geological abnormalities. Log the report into BlastIQ.The Team Leader will provide feedback to the Orica ROG Supervisor on any customer concerns or areas for improvement at Orica. The Team Leader will liaise with Technical Services about the actual hole conditions in relation to the design and work within the guidelines outlined in the Orica SOPs.This role will report in our Cebu site.What you will be doingSafety, Health & Environment & Security
  • Operate within the Orica SHE standards.
  • Perform daily and weekly pre-start and shut down checks and record.
  • No safety, health, and environmental incidents.
  • No personal accidents to self, customers, or public.
  • No preventable security incursions or thefts.
  • Complete JCC, JSERA, and Take5s relating to hole survey and drilling activities.
  • Tool box talk attendance.
  • Defensive Driving and Safety Training courses as required.
Commercial Ownership
  • Ensure actual drilled holes are delivered on time to specification and raise any issue or deviation to Tech Services and ROG Supervisor.
  • Feedback any issues to survey equipment used to prevent breakdowns.
Innovative Customer Solutions
  • On-site interaction with customers to establish any issues and give feedback to Orica to offer a customer solution.
Working Together
  • Feedback from customers on problems/issues to pass on to Orica management and technical authority.
  • Ensure controls are in place prior to arrival of shot firing team.
What you will bring
  • High school diploma or bachelor's degree
  • Must have prior experience in Drill and Blast Operations.
  • Proficiency in computer operations, understanding of surveying principles, and familiarity with good drilling practices are also desired.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in customer interactions are essential.
