About IRRI The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) is dedicated to reducing poverty and hunger through rice science; improving the health and welfare of rice farmers and consumers; and protecting the rice-growing environment for future generations. IRRI is an independent, nonprofit, research and educational institute, founded in 1960 by the Ford and Rockefeller foundations with support from the Philippine government. Job Purpose The Human Resources Compensation and Benefits unit is responsible for administering, researching, and maintaining the IRRI pay and benefits system. The unit is also responsible for developing and implementing robust fit-for-purpose compensation and benefits packages and programs. The post holder is part of a small unit of compensation and benefits staff. They are expected to proactively formulate partnerships across the HR & OD platform to deliver added value, accompaniment, and support to managers and staff to facilitate and enable delivery of IRRI's business objectives. Reporting to the HR Business Partner, Compensation and Benefits, the HR Advisor will: Proactively provide administration and support services in the implementation, monitoring, and coordination of compensation and benefits for all staff Act on and respond to issues related to compensation and benefits Independently generate and analyze data and reports and provide appropriate recommendations Take primary responsibility in maintaining and updating staff records Support the implementation and administration of relevant HR policies and procedures on compensation and benefits This position will be based at the IRRI Headquarters, Los Ba os, Philippines and may only be filled by permanent citizens of the Philippines. Roles and Responsibilities Administer staff compensation and benefits according to the HR policies and procedures Support in the management of the medical and life insurance plan for the local staff Monitor and update staff members' data records in the system and ensure the accuracy of data at all times Organize and take part in the implementation of programs and events (e.g. information sessions, orientations, dissemination of policy formation and changes, etc.) Facilitate the off-boarding procedures for exiting staff Recognize and identify issues and provide possible solutions to issues raised by stakeholders Liaise with other HR & OD units to provide seamless human services to other platforms Coordinate with internal and external clients in the administration of benefits (e.g. visa processing, shipment, travel, education, medical and life insurance, etc.) Coordinate with the Finance Unit for the processing of payments to vendors and other stakeholders Work with internal and external groups to organize programs and events related to compensation and benefits Process payment requests from internal and external clients in a timely manner Prepare and submit accurate payroll reports to AIARC in a timely manner Prepare reports and documents related to the medical and life insurance to ensure all legitimate transactions are properly recorded and that set timelines are met according to related agreements, policies, and standards Respond to and act on inquiries regarding compensation, benefits, and operations (e.g. boarding to exit) Clarify issues related to policies, procedures, precedents, and current practices related to compensation, benefits, and operations Provide improvement suggestions to supervisors and other stakeholders on processes, systems, and procedures Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Personnel Management, Industrial Relations, or related field Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience Skills Required Mandatory Has experience in compensation and benefits administration Has experience in data administration and data management systems Has strong organizational and planning skills Able to communicate well in writing & verbally Able to multitask and handle conflicting priorities Able to work independently and show initiative Preferred Has at least 1 year of relevant experience in an international work environment Show more Show less
