ResponsibilitiesThis position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.
- Planning and overseeing the work of subordinate’s staff by coordinating, assigning, monitoring, and evaluating work.
- Provide accountability for cargo received and shipped through the operations facility.
- Maintain digital logs in Warehouse Management Systems (Maximo) or military systems (GCSS-Army, TC-AIMS or GATES)
- Ensure that safety standards, security procedures, and departmental rules are observed and maintained.
- Directing the safe discharge of cargo from commercial carriers, flatbeds, and containers.
- Signing off on manifests, export documents, and transportation movement requests (TMRs).
- Conducting daily "Tailgate Safety Meetings" and ensuring all staff are wearing proper PPE and following safety protocols.
- Identifying and isolating "frustrated" cargo and researching its origin to resolve the delay.
- Organizing freight by priority, destination, or department to prevent cross-contamination of orders.
- Ensuring the wrapping and palletizing of outgoing shipments is correct
- Performs other duties and assignments as required.
- Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
- Education/Certifications:
- A valid US driver’s license is required.
- Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
- Must have valid US Passport.
- Must be US citizen.
- H.S. Diploma + 4 years’ experience OR associate’s degree with 3 years’ experience.
- Certified Logistics Associate/Technician and 40 hour GCSS-Army certifications (Not G-TRAC) required
- Experience:
- Approximately one (1) to four (4) years in CRSP operations (Highly preferred).
- Warehousing experience is a must
- Having a forklift operator’s license and being able to learn or operate a manual transmission is a plus.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of computers and related software including spreadsheets, word processing, and windows.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with external and internal customers, ability to keep records and prepare reports.
- Strong verbal and written skills required
- Must be a self-starter, perform under no supervision.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing to customers and workers.
- Able to respond to public inquiries and complaints in a tactful and effective manner.
- Supervisory Skills
- Experience as a foreman or in a lead capacity regarding shipping and receiving services military or civilian.
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- Conducting daily "Tailgate Safety Meetings" and ensuring all staff are wearing proper PPE and following safety protocols.
- Working Conditions:
- Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
- Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
- Physical Requirements:
- Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
- Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
- Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and policies.
