As an Operations Manager (Electrical Site Services), you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing contracts within the profit centre. You will be instrumental in driving high standards of safety, work, and continuous improvement in process quality. Your understanding of basic accounting practices will be crucial in developing budgets that align with forecasts and expectations. You will also take on a leadership role in HR activities within the profit centres, coaching and developing the workforce while ensuring quality, health, and safety standards are upheld.
- Drive high standards of safety, work and continuous improvement in process and quality of operations
- Understand basic accounting practices, profit and loss and budget including cash flow, debt collection and ownership of orders
- Develop and deliver budgets in line with forecasts and expectations
- Manage people effectively, setting objectives, managing performance, inspiring and motivating the workforce
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, particularly managing operational delivery in accordance with the Companies Safety Rules
- Manage processes and procedures to achieve right first time quality and customer satisfaction
- Understand the market, identify, and deliver opportunities to tender
- Proactively manage costs and improve efficiency to increase profit centre performance and profitability
- Take the lead role in all HR activities within the profit centres, coaching and developing the workforce ensuring quality, health and safety standards are maintained in accordance with company policies and relevant legislation
The ideal Operations Manager (Electrical Site Services) will bring a wealth of experience from power generation and rotating electrical machines. You will have demonstrated experience with managing a team and a proven track record in understanding and managing P&L, budget control, commercial and financial acumen for budgets exceeding £3 million. Your customer-focused approach and outstanding interpersonal skills will enable you to communicate effectively at all levels. A degree in electrical or electronic engineering is desirable but not essential.
- Background in power generation and rotating electrical machines
- Demonstrated experience with managing a team
- Understanding and managing P&L, budget control, commercial and financial acumen for budgets exceeding £3 million
- Customer-focused thinker with outstanding interpersonal skills for communication at all levels
- Experience with business development activities or increasing sales and profitability
- Excellent people management skills with the ability to lead, motivate and develop workforce
- Knowledge of the electrical engineering services industry preferably within the R&M sector
- Degree in electrical or electronic Engineering is desired
