- Execute detailed test plans and characterization procedures on new ICs and evaluation boards using a variety of standard and specialized lab equipment.
- Perform hands-on electrical tests using oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, function generators, and data acquisition systems.
- Accurately collect, organize, and present test data to Product Engineers for analysis.
- Perform hands-on assembly, modification, and rework of prototype ICs and Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), including fine-pitch soldering.
- Assist in setting up, calibrating, and maintaining development and characterization test platforms and equipment.
- Manage the inventory of electronic components, tools, and supplies required for development lab activities.
- Conduct initial troubleshooting and debugging of test setups, evaluation boards, and hardware to identify and isolate issues.
- Assist engineers in identifying the root cause of product performance anomalies or test failures.
- Maintain meticulous and accurate records of test procedures, results, observations, and equipment settings.
- Provide clear and concise verbal and written updates on task status and technical findings to the engineering team.
- Assist in drafting and updating test instructions and basic technical documentation.
- Work effectively within a cross-functional team, collaborating with Product Engineers, Design Engineers, and other technicians to meet project milestones.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment in the lab.
- Education: Associate's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field is required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2-5 years of hands-on experience as a Technician in a semiconductor, electronics, or similar high-tech product development environment.
- Proven experience with IC testing, characterization, and hardware troubleshooting is essential.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in operating a wide range of electronic test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, function generators).
- Strong ability to read and interpret schematics, circuit diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Skilled in fine-pitch soldering and rework on PCBs.
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems and basic data organization using tools like Microsoft Excel.
- Basic programming/scripting skills (e.g., LabVIEW, Python) for test automation are a plus.
