Job Summary The Senior Buyer for Bakery Department is responsible for leading the product development, procurement strategy, vendor management, and product assortment for the bakery category. This role ensures the consistent availability of high-quality bakery products while optimizing cost, quality, and supplier performance. The Senior Buyer collaborates closely with the rest of Other Business team, merchandising, supply chain, quality assurance, and marketing teams to drive category growth, enhance customer satisfaction, and support the company's overall business objectives. Job Description: Main accountable in the monitoring and product development of items in the Bakery department. Responsible for developing strategies of the specific categories under their Division to maximize business performance and profitability, ensure availability of competitively dominant merchandise assortment, and members' satisfaction by meeting demographic needs. Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for bakery products, including breads, pastries, cakes, and specialty items. Develop assortment plans that support overall strategy for key merchandise categories and classifications, items, and vendors. Particularly under the Buying department. Ensures effective execution of merchandise selection and procurement. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure competitive cost and quality standards. Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and sales data to identify new product opportunities and optimize assortment. Manage supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and ethical sourcing standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan promotions, seasonal offerings, and new product launches. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure timely replenishment and minimize waste. Qualifications Strong background in the Bakery department, preferably from hotels/restaurants. Bachelor's degree in any related field.
