Since its inception in 1999, it has maintained a specific focus on helping research professionals make sense of what is happening across the marketOverall purpose and responsibilities of the role:The HR Business Partner will be responsible for delivering HR services across the APAC region, overseeing day-to-day operations, building the HR framework, and establishing the company culture. This role will functionally report to a US-based VP of HR, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Auckland-based Regional VP.Requirements:DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESWe are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to support our growing operations in the APAC region, preferably based in Tokyo or Manila. This role requires a strong background in HR practices within the APAC market and the ability to operate with a high level of autonomy.The HRBP will partner closely with the APAC General Manager to direct all regional HR functions, including:
  • Recruiting and hiring
  • Employee onboarding and engagement
  • Performance management
  • Employee relations and terminations
  • Compensation and Benefits
This individual will ensure all HR activities are aligned with company policies, local employment laws, and cultural best practices. The role will report directly to the Vice President of Human Resources (based in the U.S.) while maintaining a collaborative working relationship with regional leadership.QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or any related field.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with a minimum of 5 years in HR leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with HRIS systems.
  • Proven track record in strategic decision-making and effectively leading and managing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to be proactive, a strong problem-solver, and a skilled communicator.
  • Recognized as a trusted partner to both leadership and employees, capable of navigating a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment.
  • In-depth expertise in Philippine employment laws and compliance.
  • Regional exposure, particularly in Japan, is an advantage but not required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possesses grit, confidence, and the ability to build trust easily.
  • Willing to work in a hybrid work setup.
