Department: Production - MGP Employment Type: Probationary Work Arrangement: On-Site Chemist This position is responsible for ensuring the geothermal steam purity and cooling water quality for proper implementation of water treatment program; monitoring of brine parameters; and ensuring accuracy and reliability of all analyses / tests results. Monitors geothermal steam purity for all generating units to protect the turbine and its auxiliaries from corrosion, scaling and clogging. Monitors recirculating cooling water parameters to prevent fouling, corrosion of plant equipment, pipe systems, auxiliaries, etc., and to comply with the obligations on the GRSSA provisions. Coordinates with steam supplier regarding any steam purity issues to ensure continuous supply of good quality steam to generating units. Coordinates with the suppliers for cooling water treatment program to ensure safe and effective implementation. Facilitates external/third party activities on brine parameters monitoring for binary plant. Participates in the preparation of the annual departmental budget and monitors chemical consumption Conducts quality and/or quantity check of chemical deliveries and ensure enough inventory for the continuous plant operation Ensures proper storage and disposal of laboratory wastes in accordance with safety, environmental, health and good housekeeping standards. Prepares, reviews, analyzes, evaluates laboratory results and maintains technical reports and records of the same physically and/or electronically for future reference. Analyzes the purity of bulk chemical deliveries. to ensure conformance to a acceptance criteria Perform other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by his/her immediate superior. Qualifications Must be a graduate of BS Chemical Engineering, BS Chemistry, Must be a Registered Chemical Technician or Licensed Chemist With at least two (2) years of relevant experience in chemical laboratory operations and maintenance Preferably with experience in Geothermal industry 1 vacant position available in Calauan, Laguna Show more Show less
