Business & Tax Advisory Director Overview This role builds and leads a practice area or has specialist expertise for which you are known in the marketplace. The role monitors the company-broad services to the assigned client portfolio and works on and leads business development objectives to expand work opportunities. The incumbent establishes themselves as a leader within service line or sector and leads practice decision making including resource allocation, career development of people and other people management decisions. The role actively collaborates within the firm through engagements and networks. Managing multiple and concurrent complex projects, possibly with the contribution of cross-divisional/group specialists. Understanding the commercial and contractual aspects of an engagement including managing fee-proposals, overruns and work above budget. Simplifying highly complex business situations and strategies to identify key issues and priorities. Negotiating with high levels of discretion with internal or external parties such as clients, government bodies and other organizations. Expertise & Qualifications To fulfil this role, the applicant will have the following attributes: Deep technical knowledge of and exposure to Australian taxation and accounting legislation and associated requirements. Minimum 7 years' experience working in a similar corporate environment. CAor CA equivalent qualified Have a relevant tertiary or post-grad qualification. Demonstrated ability to keep up to date and understand any changes to Australian taxation law and accounting standards. Solid tax and accounting technical / systems capabilities. Accient centric approach and ability to understand your clients' business. Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills will be key as the applicant develops relationships with key client stakeholders. It provides technical knowledge, coaching and training to junior team members and ensures effective engagement management by achieving the required realization, revenue and profitability targets. The role may participate in the day-to-day management of the team on engagements including coaching, providing constructive feedback and performance development. The role has an increased focus on business development, building networks across the practice and may start to take on people development activities. It also promotes collaboration within the firm through engagements and networks. Job Description Duties & Responsibilities Providing Australian tax and accounting advice and solutions to a diverse portfolio which includes small to medium sized entities, family and privately owned businesses, trusts and partnerships, foreign subsidiaries and small listed entities. Further developing your technical expertise working across services including Australian tax and accounting compliance and business/tax advisory work for middle market clients. Playing a key role across the full scope of client engagements including regular client contact and attending client presentations and meetings with senior leaders. Developing into a mentor to assist other less experienced team members and encourage their continued professional development.
