Site Leadership & 24x7 Ops
- Run live operations to exceed uptime and client SLAs. Own daily operational readiness, shift performance, and incident command. Be the accountable leader when the alarms go off.Critical Infrastructure
- Full lifecycle responsibility for MEP systems: MV/LV power distribution, UPS, generators, fuel systems, chillers, CRAH/CRAC, liquid cooling, BMS/EPMS, fire suppression, and plumbing. No black boxes.Performance & Efficiency
- Define and hit KPIs: availability, PUE/WUE/CUE, MTTR/MTBF, incident response & resolution times, change success rate, and cost per kW. Drive root-cause culture and close the loop with engineering.Capacity & Growth
- Partner with design, construction and commercial on capacity planning-power, cooling, white space, network. Own operational input to design reviews, commissioning, IST, and phased handovers. Lead expansions, densification, and eventual decomm with zero customer impact.Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to Uptime Institute standards, ISO 27001/22301/50001, SOC2, local AHJ/building/health & safety codes. Lead audits, risk registers, BCP/DR testing, and blameless post-incident reviews.Team & Vendor Management
- Build, coach, and scale a high-performance org: shift leads, CE/ME engineers, facilities techs, and EHS. Own workforce planning, rosters, competency frameworks, and succession. Manage OEMs, FM partners, and specialist vendors-set SLAs, QBRs, and hold the line on performance.Process, Tools & Automation
- Institutionalize SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and change management. Drive DCIM, BMS, EPMS, CMMS adoption and data quality. Automate monitoring, alarming, and runbooks to reduce human error and MTTR.Client & Commercial Interface
- Be the operational face to hyperscale tenants. Lead operational reviews, manage service delivery against MSAs, and support onboarding. Partner on opex/capex planning, energy procurement, and vendor negotiations with clear commercial acumen.What Success Looks Like in 12 Months
- Site operates at or above SLA with zero Severity-1 incidents attributable to ops.
PUE improved vs. design through airflow, setpoint, and controls optimization.
Commissioning of next phase delivered with zero punch-list impact to live halls.
Team engagement up, attrition down. Vendor SLA compliance >98%.
Audit findings closed on time. BCP/DR tested with client witnesses.Key Requirements
- Command & composure: Calm under pressure. Makes fast, data-driven decisions during incidents and communicates clearly to execs and clients.
Builder mentality: Thrives in “day 1” environments. Sets high bars, writes the playbook, and scales it.
- Technical depth: Can debate single-line diagrams, psychrometric charts, and generator loading with your engineers and still explain it to the CFO.
- Commercial edge: Owns budgets, understands total cost of ownership, and negotiates hard with vendors without breaking relationships.
- People leader: Hires A-players, develops talent, and builds a safety-first, no-blame learning culture.
- Client-facing polish: Executive presence with hyperscalers. Crisp reporting, narrative-driven QBRs, and trust-building transparency.
- Education: Bachelor's in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline. Master's preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years in data centre or mission-critical facilities operations, with 5+ years as Director/Head of Site or equivalent leading multi-MW sites.
- Hyperscale exposure: Must have operated at scale-20MW+ live IT load, multi-hall campuses, and concurrent maintenance environments.
- Technical mastery: Deep hands-on knowledge of MV/LV switchgear, UPS topologies, generator farms, chiller plants, BMS/EPMS, and fire/life safety. Liquid cooling experience a strong plus.
- Systems: Proven with DCIM, BMS, CMMS, and power monitoring platforms. Comfortable driving tooling and analytics adoption.
- Track record: Owned 24x7 ops, managed large multi-shift teams, led major incident response/recovery, and delivered capacity expansions on live sites.
- Certifications (preferred): Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer/Specialist, CDCMP/CDCP, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor, PMP/PRINCE2. Licensed PE/EE/ME where applicable.If you are excited to find out more, apply now!
