Roles and Responsibilities

Providing strategic advice and working on commercial strategy, planning and budgeting with the Management team
  • Providing financial plans for projects
  • Job costing for estimators and project managers
  • Management of specific financially focused projects as and when required
  • Developing and coordinating the details of specific payment terms in customer contracts
  • Provide weekly reports to senior management
Accounts Payable and Receivable duties including but not limited to:
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable Data Entry
  • Payroll entries
  • Managing accounting functions including maintenance of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project accounting
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining systems, procedures and policies, in relation to financial matters
  • Managing monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information;
  • Providing accounting assistance to project managers and relevant staff
  • Liaising between the company, government and external accountants to meet information needs and to ensure that proper information is maintained for historical purposes
  • Preparing and recommending operating and personnel budgets for approval
  • Monitoring spending for adherence to budget and providing recommendations
on significant variances
  • Scheduling payments to suppliers
  • Loading payments into the bank system
  • Review weekly Accounts payable aging reports and email to all concerned
  • Responding to enquiries from suppliers, subcontractors, service providers and other interested parties in relation to accounts payable
  • Investigating aged creditors over the agreed payment terms
  • Monitoring and reporting on deviations from credit standards
  • Managing cash applications making sure all cash receipts are applied properly
  • Make recommendations to improve the quality of invoicing and collection procedures
  • Manage credit limits
  • Weekly reporting of invoicing totals/aging totals/cash receipts/invoice adjustments
Reporting including but not limited to:
  • Sales reports
  • Job analysis reports
  • Management accounts
  • Monthly profit and loss
  • Balance Sheet
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Cash flow
  • Budgets
  • Bank reports
Required Experience
  • Accounting practices & Credit management
  • Experience with MYOB EXO ERP or a similar system
  • Diversified business experience highly desirable
  • Experience in ERP systems or similar
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role
  • Degree qualifications in Accountancy or Finance
A Successful Candidate must have
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, forecasting, reporting, cash flow, planning, variable
  • Strong analytical and leadership ability
  • High commercial acumen and experience supporting an executive management team
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining consistent performance standards with regards to Operational procedures and support of safe, efficient and respectful work practices
