So since 2006 we've been constantly innovating our world-leading hotel commerce platform to help accommodation owners find and book more guests online - quickly and simply.We've helped everyone from boutique hotels to big chains, enabling travellers to book igloos, cabins, castles, holiday parks, campsites, pubs, resorts, Airbnbs, and everything in between.And today, we're the world's leading open hotel commerce platform, supporting 47,000 hotels in 150 countries - with over 125 million reservations processed by SiteMinder's technology every year.About the Senior Software Backend Engineer role...In this role you will use your backend development experience to build and enhance our products - our projects vary between natively developing in our new cloud-based micro-services architecture and others will involve migration.What you'll do...Refine and deliver product requirements with minimum supportWork with a cross-functional distributed team in an agile methodologyParticipate in release and sprint planningWrite clean, well-organised code, while making appropriate trade-offs between performance, robustness, extensibilitySupport production systems on a shared roster basisWork closely with other developers, pair-programming, reviewing pull requests, and contributing incremental improvements to code and coding practices.Mentor and support junior developersAble to understand and write infrastructure as a codeWhat you have...Experienced in multiple languages such as Node.js (mandatory) & TypescriptUnderstand microservices architectures and RESTful APIsAWS experience across one or more of the following EC2, Kinesis, SQS, ElastiCache, Lambda, and S3Competent with database technologies (e.g.RDMS such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and/or NoSQL like DynamoDB, Cassandra, MongoDB)Understand code testability, build pipelines, Docker and CI/CD systemsKeep up with best practices, latest technologies and programming languages/frameworks as neededLiaise and work with product, and other technology and delivery teams to deliver high quality software solutionsOur Perks & Benefits…
