About the RoleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and highly reliable Bookkeeper to join Engine Capital and manage day-to-day finance and bookkeeping operations.In this role, you will ensure accurate financial records, timely reconciliations, and smooth finance processes, directly supporting the company’s goal of originating $80M in CY26.You will take ownership of execution quality, operate with discipline, and proactively escalate issues—consistently performing at an A-Player level in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesBookkeeping & Transaction ProcessingProcess all daily financial transactions, including receipts and paymentsMaintain accurate and up-to-date cashbooks and loan statementsManage accounts payable and receivable in line with agreed schedulesEnsure all supporting documentation is complete and properly filedSuccess Metrics:Transactions processed accurately and on timeUp-to-date cashbooks and loan statementsMinimal corrections or reworkStrong team feedback and A-Player performanceReconciliations & ControlsPerform daily bank reconciliationsReconcile loan accounts and clearing accountsIdentify discrepancies and escalate issues promptlySupport month-end and year-end closing processesSuccess Metrics:Reconciliations completed on time and balanced<2% reworkEarly and clear issue escalationAudit readiness3. Arrears & Loan Administration SupportSupport arrears reporting, monitoring, and collection processesAssist with loan account maintenance and transaction accuracyHandle payout calculations and ad-hoc loan administration requestsEscalate arrears or data issues promptlySuccess Metrics:Accurate and up-to-date arrears dataLoan records maintained with <5% reworkTimely responses within agreed SLAs4.
