Job Summary: The Manager of Quoting is responsible for driving regional UCT sites to perform quoting activities to a consistent business process and effectively meet or exceed annual operating plans goals and objectives by setting and monitoring data/results through a regularly scheduled governance system. This may be a regional, or specific product type (assembly or weldments or other) function and requires working with each Quoter supporting the activities regardless of their location. This position may have global direct reports, with the primary role to influence the team to drive to a common set of objectives, goals, & methods. Essential Quoting Duties and Responsibilities: Documented business process in the QMS repository that represent current state of activities Implement the business process at all of the SPS UCT sites, regardless of ERP in use Use a governance system to monitor and adjust performance to meet goals and objectives Drives continuous improvement to increase quoting capacity via hedcount model & productivity improvements Active global Request for Quote (RFQ) log; with Automated aging report to drive response goals and objectives Prioritization methodology Used for all requests for quotes - governance system for 100% use Customer quoting models in a library for easy reference and revision controls Quotes assessed quarterly for pricing changes Meet or exceed gross margin goal of 18% for assembly & 35% for weldments Quotes to achieve greater than 25% material margins Align procurement practices with quoting tiers to optimize material margins Centralize quote reviews to drive lessons learned and process compliance Perform data collection/analysis to govern results for various departments and purposes Reports department, project metrics and performance on a weekly basis Implement use quoting application/system ("In-Mind") to replace manual methods being used Reviews and approves quotes as defined by business process Drives in prioritization meeting with Customer Program Managers, Site Operations Heads, Sales Publishes Quote prioritization weekly and addresses out-of-forum prioritization requests Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Expert knowledge of account commercial activities Knowledge in BOM analysis and manipulation Strong writing and communication skills Excellent cross functional team building skills Microsoft Excel skills Ability to Manage remote teams in several locations Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
