- Manages general accounting function(s) and team responsible for the preparation of reports and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances, and other financial results for a plant or business.
- Manages team responsible for the close process including balance sheets, profit and loss statements. May be responsible for closing capital/fixed asset sub-ledgers and other responsibilities associated with capital/fixed assets.
- May manage accountants responsible for cost accounting and/or fixed asset accounting activities. May lead cost accounting and/or fixed asset accounting projects at various times of year.
- Implements processes and controls to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and Corporate accounting standards/policies.
- Makes recommendations to drive business strategy and results. Leads projects in targeted improvement areas.
- Manage and oversee the daily operation of the accounting department including but not limited to:
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual statutory reports
- Preparing financial statements and related schedules
- Preparing relevant documents for BIR filings and assessments
- Preparing monthly trial balance and Bank reconciliations
- Responsible in the monthly and annual closing of the books
- Preparing and processing of payroll
- Month and year-end process
- Accounts payable/receivable
- Cash receipts
- General ledger
- Treasury
- Cash forecasting
- Revenue and expenditure variance analysis
- Capital assets reconciliation
- Trust account statement reconciliations
- Check runs
- Fixed asset activity
- Debt activity
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
- Coordinate and complete accounting audits
- Ensure accuracy and completeness in the output of accounting staff
- Ensure the accuracy of company ledger
- Collaborates with management and department heads to resolve accounting-related issues
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
- Meet financial accounting objectives
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA Required.
- Experience in Management, Accounting, or related field may be preferred.
- 3 to 5 years US Accounting experience with 1 year strong people management background
- US GAAP experience and/or exposure is required
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles.
- Exceptional math skills.
- Proficiency with computers, especially bookkeeping software and MS Office.
- High level of efficiency and accuracy.
- Willingness to comply with all local, state, federal, and company regulations.
- Attention to detail and ability to analyze large amounts of data.
