The Associate Actuarial Manager for Embedded Value Reporting and Planning leads various aspects of management reporting and experience monitoring, and providing insights on the drivers of business results. The role also leads different aspects of the forecasting and planning cycle.
Key Responsibilities * Computation and analysis of Value in accordance with FWD's Embedded Value Policy, including margin movements and underlying drivers, variances to plan and prior years
- Develop and maintain EV models, including set-up of new products in the Prophet workspace, working with the centralized modeling team to vet models and ensure these are ready for production
- Regular forecasting and business planning
- Monitor emerging actuarial experience (e.g., claims, persistency, overruns, etc.) and ensure EV properly reflects approved best estimate assumptions
- Pursue and support margin improvement initiatives (e.g, reinsurance solutions, assumption review, model improvements, etc,)
- Continuously improve reporting processes by streamlining manual processes, DCS automation, improving worksheet efficiencies, etc.
- Other special projects that may be assigned from time-to-time (e.g., sensitivity testing, impact quantification, special initiatives, etc.)
- Graduate of Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or similar courses
- 2 papers away, or a new Associate of the Actuarial Society of the Philippines (AASP)
- At least three years actuarial experience, preferably in value reporting and business planning
- Experience in management reporting and explaining variances to prior periods and plan
- Prophet and DCS experience is highly preferred
- Has preferably worked in a multinational insurance company
- Technical skills
- Problem Solving: Develop valuation models in accordance with the relevant regulatory framework or accounting policies
- Communication: Clear communicator, both oral and written, in reserve movement analysis and earnings attribution
- Innovation: Drive continuous improvement to support a growing business by streamlining processes and improving models
