- Operational Planning & Site Oversight Supports short to long-term planning, schedules daily activities, and ensures the site runs efficiently-covering raw materials, equipment maintenance, and staffing.
- Cost & Inventory Management Provides analytical support on cost reduction strategies, conducts inventory counts and reconciliations, and optimizes stock to maximize site profitability.
- Regulatory Compliance & Site Auditing Conducts audits and inspections to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, while managing third-party agency engagements and required documentation.
- Team Leadership & Capability Building Manages training plans, oversees mandatory employee training, and fosters team development through supervision, motivation, and performance coaching.
- Safety & Process Excellence Ensures SHES standards are upheld, leads regular safety meetings, and drives adoption of programs like CHECKPOINT, housekeeping, and preventative maintenance.
- Customer & Stakeholder Engagement Builds strong customer relationships by identifying opportunities to enhance Orica services, and contributes to the company's growth through safe and profitable account management.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mining Engineering, with solid technical grounding in equipment operations and maintenance.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in blasting operations, with a proven track record of leading high-performance teams in dynamic mining environments.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing multicultural teams, with strong interpersonal skills and fluency in both verbal and written communication.
- Comprehensive knowledge of SH&E regulations and compliance frameworks, including Federal, State, and site-specific mining legislation.
- Strategic thinker with the foresight to anticipate operational needs, plan project requirements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
