WHAT IS A/AN ACCOUNTANT (COBRA) The Accountant will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting, and experience with COBRA (Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act) administration. The Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with regulations, and efficient COBRA benefit administration. WHAT WILL BE YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records. Generate regular financial reports for management review. COBRA Administration: Oversee the administration of COBRA benefits for eligible employees. Maintain accurate records of COBRA participants and their benefit elections. Coordinate with HR to ensure compliance with COBRA regulations and timely communication to qualified beneficiaries. General Accounting: Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies. Audit Support: Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support during audits. Implement audit recommendations and process improvements. Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of corporate income tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations. Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the organization. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency. Implement improvements to enhance accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification is preferred. Proven experience as an accountant, with knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Experience in COBRA administration is required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Previous experience in auditing and tax preparation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
