- Installation & Commissioning: Deliver, install, and configure histopathology equipment at client sites, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Preventive Maintenance: Conduct scheduled servicing and performance verification to maximize uptime and extend equipment life.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose technical issues, perform on-site repairs, or escalate to manufacturers as necessary.
- Calibration & Quality Assurance: Ensure instruments meet regulatory and quality standards for clinical diagnostics.
- Technical Support: Provide prompt assistance to clients regarding equipment usage, care, and basic troubleshooting.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate service logs, maintenance records, and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Customer Training: Conduct user training sessions for laboratory staff on proper operation and safety of equipment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with sales and applications teams to address client requirements and support product demonstrations.
- Spare Parts & Inventory: Manage spare parts needed for servicing and repairs.
- Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements for medical devices and laboratory environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
- At least 2–3 years of experience servicing medical devices, preferably histopathology, laboratory, or diagnostic equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Familiarity with laboratory standards (ISO, CAP, DOH, FDA) and safety protocols.
- Excellent diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to travel and provide on-site support to client laboratories.
- Hands-on experience with tissue processors, microtomes, cryostats, and staining machines.
- Certification or training from histopathology device manufacturers (e.g., Leica, Sakura, Thermo Fisher).
- Knowledge of laboratory workflows and histopathology processes.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documents.
- Field-based role with regular travel to hospitals, laboratories, and research institutions.
- Exposure to laboratory environments, chemicals, and biological samples (with appropriate PPE provided).
- May occasionally require work on weekends or after hours for urgent service needs.
