Join us and build an exceptional experience for yourself, and a better working world for all.Talent Shared Services (TSS) is a core service line within the Global Delivery Services organization, providing multiple HR support services including Recruitment support, Onboarding support, People Data Administration, Learning Administration, Cross Border Travel, Global Mobility and Performance Management support to EY member firms. TSS provides services to country, sub-area, area and global people teams and other EY stakeholders involved in HR, L&D and recruiting transactions and associated administration, reporting and people infrastructure. These services are delivered from our centres in Dalian, China; Kerala and Bangalore, India; Wroclaw, Poland; and Manila, Philippines. TSS team delivers consistent, high-quality and operationally efficient HR transactional services to EY through a globally efficient and effective network of GDS centres.Virtual Talent Hub (VTH) for the respective function is an integral part of TS service offerings where the extended delivery model is used along with high-quality skills and competencies delivered virtually. This is across service lines and regions - delivering non-repetitive project-based work through skilled, agile teams. The team in the virtual hub is an extension of the regional talent teams and will cover operational/non-transnational scope.Talent Operations VTH supports specific Regions and acts as part of the extended Region Talent team.VTH works in a fully integrated way with onshore colleagues participating in meetings, projects and planning activities as part of one team. The Team supports the Region in performing operational and administrative tasks to allow the onshore team to focus on consultative and strategic activities based on the priorities of the Region.The Operations Coordinator processes and reviews complex transactions, evaluates and improves processes, provides guidance and training to less experienced and new team members, and contributes to projects as needed. In Payroll, this role is required to have complex payroll knowledge in payroll compliance to produce accurate paychecks inclusive of taxable/nontaxable compensation and tax reporting. The role is responsible for reviewing, analyzing and processing all payroll information for a designated work group. The work requires extensive knowledge of payroll principles and accounting controls. This role requires effective communication using proper payroll terminology, professionalism, and preserve confidentiality.Applications Used: SAP Core HRShift: Aligned to the shift timings/schedule of the RegionEssential Functions of the Job:Responsibilities:
  • Manage tasks and activities in a timely manner and accountable for desired outcomes with limited supervision
  • Prepare and/or generate reporting using Excel and other firm standard software
  • Develop and manage client relationships and expectations
  • Perform specialized and complex tasks and contribute to projects
  • Manage escalations in a timely manner
  • Train, share knowledge, and act as a role model for junior TSS team members
  • Provide back-up support to TSS Operations Analyst Associates (OAAs) as needed
  • Identify and share process improvement ideas with TSS leadership and implement approved process improvements
  • Proactively communicate questions and concerns with TSS leadership and clients
Payroll related:
  • Fully competent in core payroll concepts such as hires, separations, and data integrity
  • Review and process Payroll transactions in accordance with established department and state/ local guidelines
  • Determine and set-up employee's tax obligations dependent on work, home and/or engagement locations
  • Responsible for all aspects of reconciliation and balancing of Payroll transactions
  • Analyze standard to complex taxation to execute adjustments for current and prior years
  • Process multi-state adjustments per timesheet submissions
  • Supports complex payroll transactions including domestic and international transfers, deductions in arrears calculations, partner earnings and partner separations transactions
  • Analyze, calculate and determine appropriate approach for off-cycle transactions, overpayments, disability adjustments, retro payment adjustments and final payouts in accordance with federal and state regulatory guidelines
  • Communicate with members of the Americas Talent Team (ATT), EY personnel and external parties regarding payroll issues as appropriate
  • Prepare, analyze and contribute to reports as directed
  • Meets production volume and quality standards as outlined by department management
  • Performs duties and responsibilities in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Escalates issues as needed
  • Assists with special projects as requested

Payroll related:
  • Requires comprehensive understanding of Payroll principles and all federal, state, and local wage and tax mandates
  • Understands the dependencies that exist with other HR departments
  • Demonstrate good judgment and experience in applying concepts and guideline
  • Understands the importance of effectively prioritizes assignments to meet scheduled deadlines in accordance with department guidance
  • Analyze and interpret system payments for reconciliation purposes
  • Identifies and propose solutions for process improvements
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency with Firm standard technology including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Success Factors, and other related applications
  • Ability to prioritize workload, complete multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and function independently while exercising sound judgment
  • Interact effectively and maintain a positive demeanor in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating tact and diplomacy

Payroll related:
  • Ability to apply analytical thinking to research and document transactions following standard PSS and Payroll procedures
  • Understand advanced payroll concepts
  • Effectively articulate proper payroll terminology while exhibiting professionalism, confidentiality, and diplomacy.
  • Works effectively with others within the PSS Center, field APT, and other EY personnel and external parties
  • Effective with the use of Payroll systems and firm standard technology including Windows, Excel, Word, Lotus Notes, Intranet, Case Management tools/tracker, Call Center tools, Access database, and other PSS related application
  • Understands internal office structure and reporting relationships within the PSS
  • Experience in Payroll processing environment, proficient with federal/state/local tax set-up based on work/resident location; knowledge of overtime calculations in a non-standard work week
Other requirements:
  • Working hours, flexible work arrangements, and time off may be limited during specific times due to business demands

Job Requirements:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree, preference will be given for those with US payroll specialization
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) will be an added advantage
Experience:
  • Minimum 5+ years of payroll related HR experience, or similar
  • Demonstrated experience working with different stakeholders with competing needs
  • Working in international and diverse environments
