Read on!What you do as a Coastal EngineerThe coastal engineer will form part of the small, but dynamic team working in the sector of coastal engineering design. The role will mainly cover projects in the Philippines, but also supporting international projects whenever required. The coastal engineer shall be flexible in work activities which might vary from day to day and may involve working in the head office or on project site.The coastal engineer shall manage small to medium sized projects independently and form part of a larger team during large projects. The coastal engineer will collaborate with the wider design team consisting of project managers, geotechnical, hydraulic engineers, ports and terminal experts, BIM modelers, and site engineers. Projects shall include studies, concept design, detailed design, and construction management.The coastal engineer shall keep up to date with the latest developments in the relevant field of expertise and should make use of the RHDHV colleague network to solve problems proactively. As coastal engineer, you will become part of our Makati Office.Our Philippine office consists of colleagues based in our main office Makati and across project sites. As a team, we excel in a wide variety of services and have a significant and growing portfolio of opportunities in the fields of climate resilience (river basin management, flood mapping, coastal protection, drainage, climate adaptation), maritime (land reclamation, dredging, ports, harbors, and jetties) and renewables (offshore wind and solar). Our clients range from government bodies, development institutions (World Bank, ADB, etc.) to private developers. We provide them with a range of services throughout the various phases of a project: from inception, through master planning, feasibility, design all the way to construction management. Our projects are in the Philippines, but we also provide support within the APAC region and globally.What you bringResponsibilities

design of revetments, breakwaters, quays, wave walls and other coastal/hydraulic structures including completion of research, calculations, modelling, and drawings
guides hydrodynamic and morphological modelling studies
supports and carries out BIM modelling of coastal structures/land reclamation and plays an active role in efforts to innovate this further (classification, IFC, etc.)
sets up and take off for bills of quantities and cost estimates
writes Design Reports and Technical Notes
supports any preconstruction process by input into the tender documents and evaluation of the tenders
reviews contractor’s designs and works completed on site, quantification of construction works completed

Requirements:

bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
licenced Philippine Civil Engineer
at least 3 to 7 years of experience in coastal engineering works
experience working within an engineering consultancy firm is preferred
proficient in design software including MathCAD, Excel, Civil3D, Navisworks, InfraWorks, etc.
knowledge of modelling software is beneficial
