
Senior Payroll Analyst

- Understand the payroll process from beginning to end, including data entry, calculating wages, reviewing timesheets, and ensuring timely payment to employees.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
- Handle payroll discrepancies, resolve employee payroll-related inquiries, and provide necessary support.
- Keep informed of changes in U.S. federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Process employment changes such as promotions, transfers, and terminations in UKG.
- Process and post payroll-related journal entries in Epic accounting system.
- Reconcile payroll GL accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with the finance team to support reporting, reconciliation and compliance.
- Work with the Human Resources department on any cross-functional projects.
- Assist in employee benefits, including processing 401(k) benefits, HSA contributions, Flex Plan contributions, etc.
- Assist with 401(k) audit documentation.
- Support ad-hoc payroll reporting, compliance tasks, and special projects as assigned by the Finance team.
- Maintain garnishments, tax levies, and other payroll deductions with accuracy.
- Support external auditors to support payroll-related reviews.
- Develop payroll dashboards or reports to support Finance and executive leadership with workforce insights.
- Expertise in end-to-end payroll processing, multi-state regulations, and payroll tax compliance.
- Five years of payroll administration experience.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. tax laws and regulations.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS systems. Experience with UKG software is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and adept at leveraging technology for increased efficiency.
- Strong background in 401(k) audits, filing, and understanding the general ledger (GL) impact of payroll.
- Analytical skills to interpret payroll trends, audit reports, and resolve discrepancies.
- Proactive problem-solving around year-end processes like W-2 corrections and month-end or quarter-end reconciliation.
- Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee data and financial records.
- Critical thinking and analysis skills required.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and able to work under general direction, on multiple tasks with conflicting priorities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office – particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Possess a growth mindset.
- Experience in HR administration is a plus.
