The Sourcing Intern will support the Procurement/Supply Chain team in identifying, evaluating, and managing suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. This role is ideal for fresh graduates, particularly those with a degree in Industrial Engineering, who are looking to gain hands-on experience in procurement and supply chain management.Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Research: Assist in identifying potential suppliers, analyzing their capabilities, and compiling data to support sourcing decisions.
- Request for Quotations (RFQs): Help in preparing and sending out RFQs to suppliers, gathering and comparing quotes, and summarizing the findings for decision-making.
- Cost Analysis: Perform cost analysis and support negotiations with suppliers to secure the best pricing and terms.
- Order Management: Assist in the preparation and management of purchase orders, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Supplier Relationships: Help maintain relationships with existing suppliers and support the onboarding process for new suppliers.
- Inventory Management: Collaborate with the procurement team to monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
- Data Management: Update and maintain supplier databases, procurement records, and reports to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Process Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency and reduce costs.
- Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including production, quality assurance, and finance, to ensure smooth procurement operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with procurement software or ERP systems is a plus.
- Eager to learn and apply new concepts.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
