We are seeking a detail-oriented AU Bookkeeper with strong Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience. The ideal candidate has previous experience in an Australian accounting or bookkeeping firm and is confident working with Xero and related tools. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing AP/AR processes, performing reconciliations, supporting BAS/IAS requirements, and assisting with other bookkeeping tasks as needed.Key Responsibilities
- Process Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including client invoicing and supplier payments
- Maintain accurate financial records using Xero
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts on a regular basis
- Use Hubdoc or Dext to collect and manage source documents
- Assist with BAS and IAS preparation
- Support month-end and year-end bookkeeping tasks
- Assist with payroll processing when required
- Communicate with clients regarding bookkeeping queries and support needs
- Perform general administrative tasks such as attaching documents to transactions
- Support other client files as requested by the Team Manager or Service Delivery Manager
- 1–2 years of experience in an Australian accounting or bookkeeping firm
- Proficient in Xero; experience with MYOB, QuickBooks, Hubdoc, or Dext is an advantage
- Strong understanding of Australian GST, BAS requirements, AP/AR processes, and payroll basics
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in a tax or accounting practice is highly preferred
