- Own and manage end-to-end Philippine payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for all pay cycles (e.g., semi-monthly/monthly).
- Ensure full compliance with Philippine statutory and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to:
- BIR (withholding tax, annualization, BIR forms
- SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG (HDMF) registrations, remittances, and reporting
- Interpret and apply Philippine labor regulations related to:
- Overtime, night differential, holiday pay, and leave accruals
- Final pay, separation pay, and statutory benefits
- Act as the subject-matter expert for Philippine payroll, providing guidance to HR, Finance, and business stakeholders.
- Manage and optimize payroll systems used for Philippine payroll (e.g., SAP, ADP, or other HRIS/payroll platforms), including configuration, testing, and upgrades.
- Oversee localized payroll processes for other countries, ensuring alignment with local legislation and company standards.
- Partner with external payroll vendors and shared service teams to ensure service delivery, SLAs, and data accuracy.
- Lead UAT, system implementations, and process changes related to payroll systems and integrations.
- Lead, coach, and develop a payroll team (Payroll Specialists/Officers), ensuring clear accountability and high performance.
- Review payroll outputs, statutory filings, and reconciliations prepared by the team.
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), internal controls, and documentation.
- Promote a culture of compliance, confidentiality, and continuous improvement within the payroll function.
- Ensure payroll data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
- Partner closely with Finance on payroll journals, reconciliations, and year-end activities.
- Manage payroll audits (internal and external) and resolve findings promptly.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex payroll issues and employee queries.
- Strong, hands-on experience with Philippine payroll, including statutory compliance (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG).
- Proven experience managing payroll systems and working with localized payroll solutions across multiple countries.
- People management experience, with the ability to lead and develop payroll professionals.
- Strong knowledge of payroll controls, reconciliations, and audit requirements.
- High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to manage sensitive information.
- Prior involvement in payroll system implementations or transformations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Relevant payroll or accounting certifications are an advantage.
