About This Role In close liaison with the Project Manager and the Health and Nutrition Specialist, the Project Officer-Health and Nutrition will be responsible for spearheading efforts to strategize and implement the Project 'Supporting peacebuilding through strengthening essential health and nutrition, WASH and education services for vulnerable children and adolescents in Cotabato City, BARMM' . S/He will establish and maintain partnerships with key government agencies, community leaders, schools, and other key education key stakeholders in the community. The Project Officer - Health and Nutrition will provide technical oversight, ensuring that activities align with technical standards, monitored, and delivered according to the committed health, nutrition and WASH indicators in the proposal. S/He shall work closely and collaboratively with the Project Officer-Education, ensuring that implementation of activities in the overall proposal is in sync. Required Experience And Education Education Bachelor's degree in public health, nutrition, environmental health, or a related field. Technical knowledge and relevant trainings on child protection, child development, advantage if with adept knowledge on specific policies and legal mandates about Health, Nutrition and WASH . At least 3 years of experience in project implementation and management, with a focus on health, nutrition, and WASH programs. Strong understanding of the health, nutrition, and WASH challenges in the BARMM context. Experience in community mobilization, capacity building, and participatory approaches. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills. Fluency in English and Tagalog, with knowledge of local languages an advantage. Willingness to travel extensively to project sites Experience At least 3 years of experience in project implementation and management, with a focus on health, nutrition, and WASH programs. Strong understanding of the health, nutrition, and WASH challenges in the BARMM context. Experience in community mobilization, capacity building, and participatory approaches. Good understanding of structures in health system, related BARMM legislation, and ordinances Experience in the use of computers and office software (MS Word, Excel, etc.). Proficient in technical and report writing. Experience in humanitarian response and post-disaster (i.e., HiE, NIE, WASHiE ) project is an advantage. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills. Fluency in English and Tagalog, with knowledge of local languages an advantage. Willingness to travel extensively to project sites . Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities Roles and Responsibilities Project Implementation: Plan, implement, and monitor project activities related to health, nutrition, and WASH in alignment with the project document and work plan. Ensure the timely and quality delivery of interventions, including community mobilization, capacity building, and infrastructure development. Coordinate with relevant government agencies, local partners, and communities to ensure effective collaboration and integration of services. Supervise and mentor project staff and volunteers involved in health, nutrition, and WASH activities. Monitoring and Evaluation: Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation plans for health, nutrition, and WASH interventions. Collect and analyze data to track progress towards project indicators and outcomes. Prepare regular progress reports and contribute to project reviews and evaluations. Capacity Building: Assess capacity building needs of local partners and communities in health, nutrition, and WASH. Develop and deliver training programs and materials to strengthen the skills and knowledge of health workers, community volunteers, and other stakeholders. Promote community participation and ownership in the planning and implementation of project activities. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project activities, including beneficiary data, training reports, and monitoring data. Prepare and submit timely reports to the Project Manager and other relevant stakeholders. Document lessons learned and best practices in health, nutrition, and WASH interventions. Coordination and Networking: Represent the project in coordination meetings with government agencies, NGOs, and other partners. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders in the health, nutrition, and WASH sectors. Contribute to advocacy efforts to promote improved policies and practices in these sectors.
