You’ll work at the heart of our engagement acceptance process, playing a crucial role in coordinating conflict checks across the Client network and enabling our teams to move with confidence. You’ll help strengthen the systems and processes that safeguard our firm and the communities we serve.As part of this motivated team, you'll immerse yourself in an environment that values curiosity, communication, and proactive problem-solving, all while ensuring our processes meet both global and local compliance requirements.Duties & Responsibilities:· Performing outbound global conflict checks. This involves:- Requesting a corporate tree from the Client global office.- Reviewing the validity of the corporate tree against NZ Companies Office, client financial statements, client websites and clients’ own corporate structure diagrams.- Issuing the global conflict check and processing responses as they are received.- Communicating with the engagement team when all activities are complete.- Communicating with the Ethics and Independence Manager if there are any potential conflicts.- Communicating with the relevant parties across the Client network once final decision has been reached regarding whether there is a conflict.· Responding to inbound global conflict checks. This involves:- Exporting daily the listing of inbound checks received.- Checking these against the Client New Zealand client database to check for potential matches.- Liaising with the relevant Client New Zealand partners if there is a match, to determine the services provided to the client. Communicating with the Ethics and Independence Manager to determine whether there is a conflict of interest.- Responding to inbound checks confirming no conflicts if there is no match, or communicating the details of local relevant services provided and whether there is a potential conflict.· Maintaining the independence email inbox to provide transparency of the status of all inbound and outbound global conflict checks.· Responding to requests for National conflict check results. This involves searching for the national conflict check in the Power BI report, extracting the conflict results and sending the results to the engagement teams.· Other duties in support of the Ethics and Independence team and the wider Quality & Ethics Team as required.Skills & Qualifications:· Background in the accounting industry is highly preferred.· A good understanding of company corporate structures.· Experience with current technologies like Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint, PowerBI).· Excellent organisational skills, proactive and eager to learn· Self-directed and able to investigate information provided and be inquisitive.· Excellent written English skills for email and instant messaging communication.· Good verbal English skills for Teams calls with the Ethics and Independence Manager and other members of the Quality & Ethics Team.Work Setup:
