Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and senior team members.

Cloud Infrastructure Management:

Establish and enforce best practices on AWS services (VPC, EC2, ECS, RDS, Route53, Lambda) for high availability and performance in line with industry standards.

Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost efficiency without compromising performance.

Implement new cloud features and services as required.

Ensure all cloud resources are well-maintained.

Implement backup strategies for the cloud resources.

CI/CD Pipeline Automation:

Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.

Implement IaaC using Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning.

4. Automation and Scripting:

Create automation scripts using Bash, Groovy, or similar languages.

Develop tools to enhance operational efficiency.

5. System Integration:

Collaborate with development teams to integrate software with backend systems using Java, NodeJS, or ReactJS.

6. Containerization:

Manage and deploy containerized applications using Docker.

Implement container orchestration strategies for scalability and resilience.

7. Incident Management

Provide Level 3 technical support and resolve production issues through root cause analysis.

Ensure timely resolution of incidents to maintain system uptime.

Participating in global follow-the-sun support, including after-hours on-call duties

Managing incidents and collaborating with support teams and vendors.

Automation and Optimization

Automate processes using tools like CI/CD, Terraform or Ansible.

Identify and implement workload optimization opportunities.

Code and Documentation

Maintain code quality through peer reviews and documentation.

Provide clear task breakdowns and time estimates.

Document configurations, processes, and incident resolutions.

Performance and Cost Optimization

Use resource tagging to track costs and optimize usage.

Ensure system uptime of 95.99% or higher.

Training and Tool Evaluation

Evaluate new tools and conduct team training sessions.

Share knowledge to improve team skills and processes.

Collaboration and Learning

Work with cross-functional teams to deliver secure solutions.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team.

Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of applications and infrastructure

ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Lead DevOps Engineer is accountable for the efficient design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure to support business operations. They ensure systems are scalable and compliant with regulatory standards. Lead DevOps Lead is also accountable for ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards. Acting as a liaison between internal teams and external entities, such as vendors and regulators, they manage relationships to align with strategic goals. Additionally, they oversee a team of direct and indirect reports, providing guidance to ensure successful project delivery and system reliability.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields

At least 3 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, preferably in fintech or financial institutions.

3-5 years of experience in the following skills/tools:

Cloud Management (AWS EC2, AWS ECS and ECR, AWS VPC, AWS S3, AWS Route53, AWS Lambda, Digital Ocean, GCP, Azure)

IAAC (Infra As A Code – Terraform, AWS CloudFormation)

Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Fargate)

Configuration Management (Ansible, AWS System Manager)

SSL/TLS (AWS ACM, OpenSSL, CSR, AWS ALB)

CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS Code Deploy, BitBucket Pipeline)

Code Vulnerability Management (Sonarqube, GitLab SAST and DAST)

Scripting (AWS CLI, Groovy, Python, Bash)

Observability (Grafana, Telegraf, InfluxDB, Prometheus, Site24x7, AWS Cloudwatch)

Linux and Windows Administration
