Who are we looking for We're looking for an Electrical Designer / Secondary to join our Digital Design II Team. Key Roles and Responsibilities Responsible for delivering on own project tasks within allocated budget Proactive in identifying a decrease in own workload and informs Supervisor when additional tasks are needed to maintain utilization within allocated time. Recommends implementation plans for own part of project / project team to Technical Lead or senior members of the team. Suggests improvements for existing processes / procedures / standards to Technical Lead to execute tasks more efficiently and effectively. Actively links in with GHD Service Line / other Business Groups to find new and creative solutions to new or complex or advanced problems and leverages these for the benefit of the broader Region and beyond, and assists to drive continuous improvement. Follows set procedures, processes and standards to solve less broad, generalist problems based on practice and precedent, typically resolves standard/routine problems using existing solutions and methodologies, with limited to no supervision. May informally supervise the performance of more junior team members to ensure compliance to procedures, processes and Documentation Technician 3 standards, and reports non-compliance to senior team members. Communicates progress on specific tasks, and reports on issues that may arise that could cause delays / obstacles in a timely manner. What you will bring to the team 5-10 years professional experience With Electrical Designing / Documentation (secondary) experience Monitor the progress of design activities, ensuring that work is distributed efficiently and completed according to specified timelines. Review design drawings in accordance with project scope and requirements. Collaborate with other disciplines and contribute to 3D modeling, including cable tray, cable trench and equipment modeling. - Prepare 2D schematic, terminations, and general arrangement of switchboards, protection panels, PLC and control panels, distribution boards and battery chargers. Generate Material take-off (MTO) reports for various electrical components within substation. Perform clash/interface checks and identify conflicts, collaborating with other engineering disciplines to implement corrective actions. Review vendor drawings and documents, capturing data from the current revision, and documenting changes as necessary. Utilization of 2D and 3D software for design and documentation purposes.
