The Credit and Collection Officer plays a vital role in overseeing the company's accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of payments, and minimizing credit risks. This position is responsible for evaluating customer creditworthiness, enforcing credit policies, and managing overdue accounts, while maintaining strong customer relationships and supporting overall financial health. Key Responsibilities Credit Management: Assess the creditworthiness of new and existing clients, establish credit limits, and monitor accounts receivable balances. Collections: Initiate follow-ups on outstanding payments through calls, emails, and notices; negotiate payment arrangements; and escalate accounts when necessary, including legal action. Reporting & Analysis: Generate regular reports on aging accounts, collection performance, and potential bad debts to support decision-making. Policy Enforcement: Implement and ensure adherence to company credit and collection policies; recommend updates when needed. Customer Engagement: Handle customer inquiries related to billing and payment, and resolve disputes in a professional and timely manner. Skills & Qualifications Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience. Strong verbal and written communication, with excellent negotiation skills Solid understanding of financial analysis and basic accounting principles Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively Familiarity with credit laws, collection regulations, and industry best practices Prior experience in credit and collections; background in the retail sector is a plus Willingness to work onsite and conduct fieldwork as needed
