JOB PURPOSE To operate and maintain assigned packaging equipment based on established quality system standards and specifications in order to produce the required quality products at optimum cost. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MACHINE OPERATIONS Implements/ conducts Clean-In-Place (CIP) / Sanitation-In-Place (SIP) as needed. Conducts start-up activities per machine based on specified standard operating procedures. Checks, receives, and ensures availability of packaging materials in operations. Conducts daily inventory / records material usage and spoilages. Monitors output to ensure conformance to product standards. Conducts specifics machine testing and to ensure proper operations. Conducts quality control and line inspection. Conducts sampling and submits samples to laboratory for analysis as needed. Monitors efficiency and material yield for specific assigned equipment to meet plant's target and do corrective action to equipment or system if deemed necessary. Conducts shut down or post operations activities per SOP. Maintains all required production records and set up as required by the system. Monitors and records operations-related data as given in the operator's report and machine logbook (i.e. machine downtime causes/s, materials usage/ inventory, significant incidents) Prepares and submits daily operations report. Conducts corrective and preventive actions when operating parameters are not within standards Conducts decontamination activity in the equipment when needed. MACHINE MAINTENANCE Cleans and executes scheduled maintenance activities of assigned machine. Conducts troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance of assigned machines. Executes machine changeover as needed. Accounts all changeover parts of the assigned equipment to ensure smooth and complete transition from one product to another. Investigates causes of mechanical and/or electrical failure of machines, tools/parts and recommends correction and corrective measures. Complies and executes maintenance order, fills out and provides data of activities and materials being used. Submits the maintenance order to immediate superior after the maintenance activity. Provides feedback to immediate superior for utilities issue that has direct & indirect impact to packaging operations and maintenance. OTHERS 1. Supports the plant's Integrated Management System by conforming to established documented procedures and standards in area of responsibility. 2. Supports company programs by participating in quality and productivity programs and employee relation's activities, and attendance to meetings, reviews, training and seminars as needed. 3. Helps maintain a clean and safe work environment by: Keeping work area clean and orderly at all times Supporting the GMP and HACCP program of the plant Supporting the company's waste segregation program Practicing waste minimization Complying with company health and safety policies, including use of uniform, identification cards and personal protective equipment. Informing his or her immediate superior of any health, safety or environmental concern observed within the plant.
