
Application Support Engineer (5AM to 2PM Shift)

- DTCC offers a flexible/hybrid model of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote (onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays and a third day unique to each team or employee).
- Support DTCC's ITP production application services for PSE/PROD environments. Analysis of Applications systems in order to prevent incidents from reoccurring
- Monitor Dashboard to provide better visibility into potential issues and future outages
- Expand knowledge base of operating procedures/runbooks for supported applications
- Collaborate within the team to resolve application alerts and escalate and join incident calls as needed.
- Gather requested documentation in support of ongoing audits requests. Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk.
- Implementation of efficiencies and improvements to standard processes and procedures such as automation through scripting, programming, etc.
- Execute assigned steps of the Disaster Recovery scripts during planned and unplanned outages, collecting BCM evidence as needed
- Ensure automation produces expected results within stated thresholds
- Contribute to projects by performing task work and ensuring permit-to-operate (PTO) guidelines are met. Analyze proposed application design and provide feedback on potential gaps to business requirements.
- Execute renewals/service account password changes as scheduled, resolve PSE and production defects and handle minor enhancements as needed.
- Support for change management and assigned Problem tickets assigned to Enterprise Application support team.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in application production support and team management
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of system administration - system configuration management, resource sharing, operating system fundamental
- Knowledge on application support - basic programming skills, log reading and analysis
- Experience in multiple platforms (Operating systems - UNIX, Linux, Windows, VMWare)
- Understanding of different technologies and applications
- Networking and Storage technologies - TCP/IP, HP, Cisco
- Database - Oracle, MS SQL, DB2, Snowflake
- Middleware technologies - WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere MQ, Java, JRE
- Knowledge in the following: MQ, CA View (Autosys), Service Now, Jira, Splunk, Graphana, Dynatrace
- Clustering technologies - Veritas, Red Hat, and VMWare vSphere
- Cloud Computing - AWS, CloudWatch, Cloud Formation, Azure, Google Cloud
- Programming and scripting - ability to establish automation, write scripts (Perl, Python, Chef, Puppet) or implement system solutions
- General knowledge of industry principles and new technologies like cloud computing, virtualization, etc.
